I hope you enjoyed the Weekly Write part one! I’m sure you are all still writing regularly now. Thank you to those who have sent in their work for my free offer. If you are still working on your piece, the offer is still open, email me for a free edit of the first 500 words!
For the Weekly Write part two, beginning on 19 August, we’re moving on to take a look at the tools of writing to help you build your writing skills!
And building is the best metaphor for what we will be doing.
Grammar, spelling, and vocabulary are the wood, stone, and cement of writing; in other words the building blocks. However, there are many places online to help you with these blocks.
What the Weekly Write will do is help you practice your craft like any good builder by improving your use of your tools: memory, observation, and experience.
In this Weekly Write, Every Monday I will post a writing prompt (idea) where you will use one or more of these writing tools for 1-2 hours per week, which will sharpen the use of these tools in building a narrative.
I look forward to seeing you again beginning on Monday 19 August!
